Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park

Twenty friends and seven excited kids hiked into the Kokanee Glacier cabin (hidden behind a tree, above) last weekend for an annual Thanksgiving feast. Here are a few images of the surrounding landscape, which I am definitely thankful for- showing the subtle hues of the plant understory including huckleberry, rhododendron and various grasses. A sprinkling of snow on the peaks and glacier were a nice touch- until the sprinkles turned into a driving blizzard on day three when we had to hike out. There’s now about 25cm of snow at treeline.
