Road trip!

Amy, Casey and myself just returned from a 10-dayer down in the US Southwest. After flying into Albuquerque, we pushed fairly far south and focused on SE Arizona for its cool sycamore canyons, remote rock and wildlife diversity. Little did we know, upon leaving a cool, wet BC that we’d get quite a bit of snow even so close to Mexico. But it was also warm and clear- a perfect vacation. We even went to Vegas where my visiting mom took over Casey’s reins so we could do some climbing for a day. Thanks Grandma! Anyone who thinks you can’t put 4000km on a rental car with a one year old is absolutely correct. He won’t even go near a car seat without doing this contorted squirm that (optimistically) hints at his future rock climbing prowess or maybe a Cirque du Soleil performance…

Slush Cup

This is an event held every year at Whitewater ski hill on the last weekend of the season. Normally it’s too cold and snowy so nobody shows up, but today was a different story. Probably the first real spring day of the season landed on the same scheduled day of the Cup. Topless skiers, cops, even a dog show. It was a crazy day. Here’s my chance to say thanks to Whitewater for another great season and for being such a great place to shoot photos and maybe do a little bit of skiing too…

One year…

It’s hard to believe it’s been a year already! Maybe this video is only funny if you’re his parent.
