I’ve partnered with Canada’s Eagle Eye Tours to run a birdwatching tour in one of British Columbia’s most spectacular regions: The Chilcotin Coast, including Bella Coola. If you’re interested in wildlife- big and small- plus a bit of adventure, please consider joining. Check out the link for more information. The tour, beginning on June 4th, centres around Tweedsmuir Lodge, an historic and cozy abode at the head of the impressive Bella Coola Valley. It includes floats down the Atnarko River, a heli flight to the alpine, a boat trip to hotsprings and fjords, then takes the high road up to the Chilcotin Plateau. The focus is, of course, on discovering both common and rare birds that inhabit the area but also involves other wildlife encounters such as bears and whales, not to mention photographing the jaw-dropping scenery of the place. A final touch is a flight over Mt. Waddington!
